CROSS COUNTRY (XC) COURSE & JUMP ARENA
DISCLAIMER FORM AND TERMS & CONDITIONS OF USE

These rules are important to help ensure everyone’s safety. We want you to have a great time at Bissell Wood Estate’s XC course and jump arena, but be aware that horse riding, particularly XC riding and jumping, is a high risk sport. You are responsible for your own safety while using the XC course and jump arena.

THIS FORM MUST BE FILLED IN AND SIGNED BY EACH RIDER BEFORE RIDING ON THE BISSELL WOOD ESTATE XC AND/OR JUMP ARENA – IF YOU ARE UNDER 18, YOUR PARENT OR GUARDIAN MUST SIGN THIS FORM ON YOUR BEHALF

Please carefully read this disclaimer form and its terms & conditions. By signing this you are stating and agreeing to the following:

I agree that the Bissell Wood Estate (including its owner, the organisers, landowner and any of its employees, contractors and representatives) accept no liability and shall not be held liable for any
accidents, injury, illness, loss or damage to any riders, horses, owners, spectators, property, vehicles and any other belongings whatsoever or however caused.

I will at all times while mounted wear:

• suitable footwear with defined heels
• a riding hat (correctly fastened, no fixed peak) meeting the current British Horse Society (BHS) standard
• a body protector meeting the current BHS standard

I agree and confirm that:

• all riders will be accompanied (either mounted or on foot)
• no riders under the age of 8 are allowed to use the XC course or jump arena and all riders between the age of 8 and 18 need to be accompanied by an adult
• children will be closely supervised
• I will carry a working mobile phone in case of an emergency
• I will keep control of my horse at all times
• all tack being used is fit for purpose
• I will obey any rules and instructions given
• I and my horse are physically fit and mentally able to make the strain and exertion involved in riding around the XC course and/or jump arena

I confirm that I and all riders and spectators with me have appropriate personal and public liability insurance and that I hold a valid horse passport which will be produced on request.

I agree that I will ride the XC course and jump arena in a sensible way, compatible to my level of experience. The jumps are of varied levels of difficulty, heights and nature and are optional – I agree
that I will only attempt jumps that are within my and my horse’s ability and experience.

I agree to be considerate to other horses, riders and spectators at all times and will only jump one horse at a time per fence. If riding in pairs or as a group, I agree horses will NOT jump abreast of each
other and will follow one behind the other.

I agree that I or my representative will report to the Bissell Wood Estate any injury I or any of my party may sustain whilst using the XC course and/or jump arena. I will also report any problems with or
damage to the XC course, jump arena or other facilities to the Bissell Wood Estate immediately.

I agree to pick up all muck left by my horse(s) and dispose of it in the designated area. I will take all other rubbish with me when I leave the Bissell Wood Estate.

I agree that no dogs are allowed on the Bissell Wood Estate.

I agree that the terms & conditions in this disclaimer form shall apply each and every time I use the XC course and/or jump arena.

By signing this disclaimer form, I agree to abide by the terms & conditions set out above. I accept that I ride and use the XC course and jump arena entirely at my own risk and take full responsibility for the actions and safety of myself, my horse, persons under 18 years old and spectators that accompany me.
